The Presentations

Each presentation takes approximately 45 minutes. I then encourage questions spurred on by the talk which, if time allows, will continue for between 15 and 30 minutes. Following this, I make myself available to any students who want to ask further questions; including those who, for whatever reasons, did not want to ask questions in front of their peers.

Experience has shown that mixing year groups is not a good idea because they tend not to ask questions in front of one another, and the question and answer session is vital to the talk.

Many schools ask me to address several different year groups over a day. This not only saves travelling expenses which would be incurred by me returning on different days, but also enables me to significantly discount the second and third presentations.

I have welcomed, and positively encouraged, schools' requests to address parents in the evening, allowing them to experience the same presentation that their children have received during the day. I can address their queries and concerns and, perhaps most importantly, encourage an open dialogue on this subject. Parents most definitely need educating too!

A day presentation usually comprises two or three talks to year groups and staff, and a parents session in the evening, all of which would be covered by my day rate. If desired, I will tailor a package of talks, or workshops, around a schools specific requirements, at a negotiable fee.
