About Alex

Alex Fryer RGN trained as a nurse at Guys Hospital in 1985 after leaving The Perse School, Cambridge. Following ten years working in general practice she decided to concentrate on Sexual Health and Contraception. In 1995 she completed the ENB950 course and has since devoted her time to working with young people as a Specialist Practitioner, and a Nurse Prescriber, with the West Norfolk PCT, advising on matters of sexual health, relationships and contraception in schools and colleges. She has recently been appointed an Associate Lecturer at the University of East Anglia.

Alex has many years experience providing information and advice to both young people and their parents. Having a teenage son and daughter attending independent schools has helped her to recognise and appreciate the problems and pressures facing young people today with regard to sex and relationships and has also enabled her to develop the necessary skills and sensitivity needed to communicate with young people.
